bncc.dev terms of use

1. Who provides what

bncc.dev is provided by Profy Tecnologias Educacionais Ltda, trade name Profy IA, CNPJ (Brazilian company registry) 53.669.787/0001-45, with registered office at CLN 206, Bloco A, Loja 09 (Parte RB), Asa Norte, Brasília (DF), Brazil, CEP 70.844-510.

These terms cover four services: the bncc.dev website, the REST API at api.bncc.dev, the hosted MCP server at mcp.bncc.dev and the contact and newsletter forms. They do not cover Profy AEE or Profy Planejamento, which have their own terms.

2. Open licenses

The data is licensed under CC BY 4.0 and the code under MIT, as stated in the repositories at github.com/bncc-dev. The licenses allow copying, modifying, redistributing and commercial use, with attribution. In case of conflict, the license prevails over these terms. Details are in About · Licenses.

The normative texts of the BNCC are official acts and are not protected by copyright (Law 9,610/1998, art. 8, IV).

3. Using the services

• Free and without sign-up. None of the services requires an account, password or access key.
• Request limits. The API and the hosted MCP server accept up to 60 requests per minute per IP address. The forms accept up to 5 submissions per minute per IP address. Limits may change to protect the service.
• High volume. For heavy use, download the data or use the packages and the local MCP server, which work offline and without limits.

You may not:

• deliberately overload the services or try to bypass the request limits;
• exploit vulnerabilities or try to access areas and systems that are not public;
• use the forms to send spam, unlawful content or third-party data without authorization;
• present a derived service as if it were bncc.dev or as if it had Profy's endorsement.

4. Accuracy of the content

Every text is checked against the official document and carries the source page. Even so, transcription errors are possible. In case of divergence, the official document of the Ministry of Education (MEC) or the National Education Council (CNE) prevails. bncc.dev does not replace the official documents where the published norm is required.

If you find an error, open an issue with the code and the source page. The process and the timeframes are in the content policy.

The data is not generated by AI. When an AI assistant queries the MCP server, the answer it gives you is the responsibility of the assistant and its provider.

5. Availability

Profy maintains the services with reasonable effort, without a guarantee of continuous operation or a contracted service level. The services may be changed, interrupted for maintenance or discontinued. The data remains available on GitHub and Zenodo, under the same licenses, regardless of the website, the API and the hosted MCP server.

6. Name and visual identity

The name "bncc.dev", the logo and the visual identity are not included in the open licenses. You may cite bncc.dev as a source. A derived project must not present itself as bncc.dev or suggest a partnership or endorsement that does not exist.

7. Liability

The data and code are provided as is, as the open licenses state. Each person is responsible for how they use them. These terms do not exclude Profy's liability for willful misconduct, nor the rights guaranteed by the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, where applicable, and by the General Data Protection Law.

8. Privacy

The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy.

9. Changes, law and jurisdiction

Each version of these terms has a number and a date, and relevant changes are announced on this page before they take effect. Brazilian law applies. The courts of Brasília (DF) have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the consumer's place of residence and other mandatory jurisdiction rules.
